Mary is passionate about sharing yoga & mindfulness-based practices and carefully curated retreat experiences, which promote healing, vitality and joy. She brings over a decade of experience as a Yoga & Meditation teacher and is also a certified Professional Recovery Coach (IAPRC) with specialized training in addiction recovery and trauma-informed care.
As an International Yoga Teacher, Mary has designed world-class retreats that are top-rated by Yoga Journal and Conde Nast Traveler. She served as the Yoga & Wellness Director of Nihi Sumba for three years, named “Best Hotel in the World” by Travel+Leisure Magazine, and continues to work with wellness and travel industry leaders including COMO Hotels, ROAR AFRICA, and more.
Mary has had the great privilege of training under master teachers including PranaVinyasa with Shiva Rea, Yoga Medicine with Tiffany Cruikshank, Yoga for 12-Step (Addiction) Recovery with Nikki Myers, as well as residential ashram stays in India and Nepal. She teaches a very personalized practice, meeting the needs of every student whether it is in a group class or private session.
Spending much of her time in remote, wild places, Mary is endlessly awed by the healing potential of nature to bring us back to our natural state and attune us to the innate wisdom of the body, mind, breath and spirit. These lessons are intricately woven into all of her retreat experiences.
Mary spent over a year in a farming village of Cambodia where she led over 40 integral yoga retreats as the Head Yoga Teacher at Hariharalaya Retreat Center, lived on Sumba, often referred to as the “forgotten island” of Indonesia, and has shared the teachings of yoga & meditation from the ancient soils of the African bush. Within the retreat experiences which she offers, cultural immersions help deepen the experience of connection not only to the self but the environment and local communities.
Mary currently lives in the mountains of Colorado, and offers 1:1 and group coaching, runs retreats and hosts the Sun & Moon Sober Living Podcast.
